Who Are We?CED formally came into being and began to operate on 20th January 1986 in response to a conviction that there was a need for professional engineers, and others, who were committed Christians with experience in developing countries to:
What Do We Do?CED offers a quality professional engineering service at minimum cost to overseas communities and development agencies to enable them to address some of the underlying causes of poverty and ill-health. Beneficiaries are certainly not restricted to Christian communities, even though in practice much work comes through Dioceses and Christian development agencies. Improved water supply is the most frequent, but by no means the only, requirement. CED policy is to establish partnerships with local communities and promote self-help with the maximum use of local resources of manpower and materials. CED does not have projects of its own; it always helps local communities or organisations with their own projects, provided they are considered viable. CED Provides:Technical Services to Projects
Other Services to Partner and Beneficiary Organisations
Please Note: CED is not a funding agency in its own right and therefore cannot directly fund projects, but CED can, and often does, assist with fund-raising documentation and offer fund-raising advice.
